They don’t make em’ like they used to, do they?

Unfortunately, new cars focus more on bluetooth connectivity than grin-producing style.  Where once existed audible ecstasy as the symphony of intake and exhaust notes raced forward, now is home to drop-down menus controlled by knobs connected to proprietary electronic contraptions that will fail your car into the same obsolescence encountered by the corporate laptop computers they were designed on.

The value of vintage cars has spiked tremendously in the past decade. One major part of that equation is that they are not being replaced by newer, more engaging models. Thankfully, enthusiast cars designed before Y2K are generally designed to be rebuilt indefinitely. Rocky Mountain Retrofit was founded with the intention of refurbishing these vehicles and returning them to the road for further use and enjoyment.

Cars are one of the most complex artforms ever to exist. Most people will never understand them. But those who drive them, look at them, repair them, race them, and create memories in them become one with the equations, drawings, sacrifices and choices that were melded together by artists, engineers, mathematicians and thrill-seekers to create them. It is sad to see them end up in the landfill or parted out when the aftermarket enthusiast community still supports them. We are here to save your favorite art.

We will mechanically restore any vehicle that was destined to live on. For an in-depth dive into what that means, download our mechanical restoration checklist below, and feel free to contact us to discuss!

Success Stories

"Johnny helped me find the exact truck that I wanted and fully tested the truck before purchase.

Then he helped me do the same with my slide-in camper. Both items were affordable and Johnny customized the vehicle and camper as I needed (including a full solar to battery set-up for off-grid travel). I couldn't be happier!"

Meet Johnny

I believe that vintage and enthusiast vehicles are in fact, complex artforms. When you get behind the wheel, you’re experiencing a cooperative masterpiece.

I created Rocky Mountain Retrofit to preserve and further these artforms for enjoyment in their natural habitat - The open roads and trails of wherever they take you - Whether that means restoring them or retrofitting them with more modern running gear.
